May 4, 2014Growing up feral and free at the foot of Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains, I was always surrounded by dogs, cats, horses, frogs, butterflies... you name it. When it came to reading, Zoobooks were the only thing that could hold my attention. These days, not much has changed — I still run with a wild pack: Hatch & Belle, my loyal adventure pups, and “murder cats” Eddie & Elvis.
For the past 25 years, I’ve built a career in design, marketing, and advertising — chasing stories from Chicago’s Third Coast to California’s Pacific shores, and finally, back to the Bighorns. A bit of a wandering local, I’m always on the lookout for the next story to bring to life.
You’ll most likely find me lost in the mountains, chasing the kinds of moments only Mother Nature can offer: big skies, open landscapes, and unexpected joy with my four-legged friends.
Animal stories deserve a place on our top shelf — so why not create our own local version of a Zoobooks? It’s time to focus on what’s always had my heart: animals, wild and not-so-wild, right here in my own backyard.
… And if you just stop and think of it
Ain't no doubt of it
I'm gonna win a place in history.
If I could walk with the animals...
Talk with the animals...
Grunt, squeak, squawk with the animals...
... And they could squeak and squawk and speak and talk to me!
