The animals who perform the vital ecosystem role of cleaning up carrion will always come for the roadkill, and when they do, three things happen. From its home in the Mountain West, Kindred Species shares the magnificence and variety of the animal-human bond with unprecedented and breathtaking photographs and personal accounts. From wild to domestic, large to small, the animals among us are worth a closer look.
The inspiration for this publication comes from our appreciation for the myriad ways that people connect with the animals around them. There are so many (as yet) untold or lesser-known stories, and so many unique bonds between humans and animals, out there for us to celebrate. We believe that knowing these stories will elevate everyone’s life — and in so doing, will bring us closer to each other and to the creature-filled world around us.
Kindred Species is a bit of a love letter. We hope you enjoy it.
